Beginnings

Warsaw University of Technology acquired 59.5 million PLN funding from the European Regional Development Fund for the implementation of project called “Warsaw Technology Zone- Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management of Warsaw University of Technology (CZIiTT PW)”.

On November 15, 2012 an agreement for financing the project was signed by the following people: Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology – Prof. Jan Smidt, PhD. Eng., Marshal of Mazovia Region – Adam Struzik and board member of the region- Wieslaw Raboszuk. The agreement was signed during the “Third Forum of Mazovia Open Days “.

The main aim of the project was to create a “Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management of Warsaw University of Technology” with a potential to facilitate research and development in the field of commercialization and technology transfer.

Activities within CZIiTT PW encompass the whole process of innovation – from identifying innovative results of research conducted by Warsaw University of Technology and other research institutions from Mazovia Region, through development of new solutions in the field of technology transfer and innovation management, and finally- popularization of the results.

The project involved constructing and equipping Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management, built on the property of Warsaw University of Technology, located at Armii Ludowej Av. (now Rektorska St.) between the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Focus office building. The Centre is a six-story building spread over 12 000 square meters.

The building contains research laboratories used in management and organization of innovative processes and technology transfer. Laboratories and associated infrastructure, which was developed as a result of the project, creates a platform for cooperation between entrepreneurs and R & D sector. This is to enhance transfer of knowledge and technology into the economy.


Total value of the project: 74 734 253.24 PLN


Source of finance:

  • Funding from the European Regional Development Fund: 59 500 000,00 PLN
  • Own contribution in the form of real estate: 7 000 000,00 PLN
  • Cash down payment: 8 234 253.24 PLN
